Can I use marble in my shower?

This is a tricky question that we get all of the time. The short answer is yes, but it’s a little more involved than that. The question that needs to be asked first is what type of marble are you using and what’s your expectation of that marble over time?

A white marble is going to look beautiful when you first install it, and you’re going to want to make sure to use the right setting materials and sealers so that it lasts as long as it possibly can, but keep in mind marble is a living stone. It’s going to change over time. The way it looks when you first install it is not what it’s going to look like in three to five years. It’s going to require a little bit more maintenance and it will change over time, but that’s also the beauty of the stone.
