In the meantime, keep reading to learn about brick tile and how it could be a great choice for your home. Feel free to call us at 626-799-4595 if you have questions or need assistance.

Brick Tile Can Be Installed Nearly Anywhere

One of the first questions people often ask us is where brick tile can be installed. The truth is that it can be installed just about anywhere. People install brick tile in their kitchens, in their bathrooms, or on their fireplace. It is used in both residential and commercial spaces, including restaurants and grocery stores.

The main limitation is that because brick is so porous, it should generally not be installed anywhere with excess moisture. For example, we do recommend installing it in steam showers, around pools, or in shower pans. While we do recommend it for residential flooring, we do not recommend it be used as commercial flooring.

Space is Important When Grouting Brick

In the brick industry, it is fairly standard to have a 3/8” grout space in the number of brick pieces there are for each square foot. If you want tighter grout, you may run out of material. Remember that the tighter your bricks are installed, the more noticeable any variation in the bricks will be. Grout space is also important because it helps take on some of the stress – which is doubly important if you have a newer home that is still settling.

Brick Tiles Can Be Installed in Many Patterns

While some patterns are more common than others, you are not limited when you decide how to install your brick tiles. Some people choose to use them as accent pieces to their simpler tiles, while others decide to install only brick tiles. You may choose to have several colors of bricks or uniform bricks. You can have a row of bricks going straight up or you can stagger them as traditional bricks are generally installed in buildings.
