Many homeowners think that they’re taking this into consideration but they’re actually only considering part of it. They think about whether or not they have enough room to cook but not if it’s enough room to cook comfortably. Remember that as you prepare food, you’re likely to have out an appliance or two, a number of knives, sheet trays, cutting boards – and that’s without even considering the food itself!

Now, as you think about whether or not you have room to cook comfortably, remember to take other people into consideration. Do you cook frequently with your spouse? Do you have children that you hope will learn to cook some day? If so, then you need to think not just about if you can comfortably cook on those counters but if others can as well.

Do you have room to store everything you need?

Once again, you don’t want to just picture your kitchen when it’s use with only the things you’re using. Do you want to have your coffee maker out? Do you want to be able to display your flour and sugar jars? What about your knives?
